Camp B.U.I.L.DCamp BUILD

Camp BUILD stands for:

  • B - Body - lessons concerning building a healthy body.
  • U - Unity - establishing teamwork and working together.
  • I - Inner self - concerning self-qualities, happiness, and awareness
  • L - Leadership - encouraging teamwork
  • D - Development - enhancing personal conduct skills

Camp B.U.I.L.D. is an annual month-long day camp program for the month of June that is for children and pre-teens in the Olive Branch community. It is influential to all the campers by establishing more stability and accountability in their lives helping them develop better life skills. They are offered a positive and disciplined environment encouraging and motivating them daily to avoid any delinquent activity. It gives them the knowledge to resist the temptation to experiment or use a harmful substances such as tobacco, alcohol, and other illicit drugs. Participants are able to establish stronger relationships with dedicated police officer instructors showing them they truly care about their physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being.

Camp S.H.A.P.E is an annual month-long day camp program for the month of June that is for High School students in the Olive Branch community that offers law enforcement activities. They are offered a positive and disciplined environment encouraging and motivating them daily to avoid any delinquent activity. It gives them the knowledge to resist the temptation to experiment or use a harmful substances such as tobacco, alcohol, and other illicit drugs. Participants are able to establish stronger relationships with dedicated police officer instructors showing them they truly care about their physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being. In addition to this support, there are fun activities such as field day, Parade to City Hall and lots of community service.

DARE LogoDrug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)

This is an annual two-month program that is taught to all 6th-grade students by a designated O.B. School Resource Officer that is D.A.R.E. instructor certified. The D.A.R.E. officer/instructor equips the students with up-to-date educational information about the dangers and harmful effects of using Alcohol, Tobacco, and other addictive substances. The students are challenged to stand up against the temptations to use these substances giving them the ability to make wise choices.
