The Design Review Advisory Committee is established with the powers and duties to recommend to the Board of Aldermen an ordinance setting forth minimum standards of design for adoption. The Committee shall review, on at least an annual basis, the operations and implementation of the City of Olive Branch Design Review Ordinance, and shall recommend to the Board of Aldermen any amendments to either the administrative sections of the Design Review Ordinance or to the minimum standards of design that they may deem necessary to enhance such operations and implementation.

The Committee shall provide counsel and advice to the Administrative Official on matters pertaining to community appearance and shall be responsible for such other tasks and activities as the Board of Aldermen may designate from time to time. The Committee shall be responsible for reviewing and approving, in the place of the Administrative Official, any applications for a Building Permit in which the use of steel or other metal is included as a major exterior design element.
