Today at the Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce Luncheon, we had the opportunity to recognize the 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee: Louie "Harold" Nichols!

Harold Nichols

Harold spent many years working for South Central Bell and Century Telephone before purchasing Nichols Glass in 1973 from his uncle, who had founded the business in the 1950s. Under Harold’s leadership, Nichols Glass thrived and became a well-known and respected business throughout Olive Branch and the surrounding areas - recognized for its quality craftsmanship, hospitality, and generosity.

While many knew Harold through his work at Nichols Glass, he also served his community with distinction in several roles: as Interim District 1 DeSoto County Government Supervisor, a member of the DeSoto County Tax Advisory Committee, Old Towne Design and Review Committee, and as President of the Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation Board of Directors. In every capacity, Harold led with dignity, integrity, and humility.Outside of work and public service, Harold enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, golf, and cheering on Ole Miss football. A devoted member of First Baptist Church Olive Branch (FBCOB), he never met a stranger and was known for his warmth, kindness, and genuine love for people.Harold Nichols leaves behind an enduring legacy of family, faith, and community service. His contributions and character make him a most deserving inductee into the Olive Branch Hall of Fame, Class of 2025.

This was awarded post humously.  His award was accepted by his son, Phelan Nichols, his daughter-in-law, Traci Nichols, granddaughter Abbi Nichols, stepdaughter Amy Denison and her husband, Keith Denison.
