AEROBICS ( 9:30 am - 10:30 am )

Whether you are wobbly from a stroke or surgery, need exercise to control your weight, or wanting to become more mobile, our aerobics classes are exactly what the doctor ordered!

With 3 instructors, a room full of encouragement, and the ability to go at your own pace, walking or from a chair, start this week! We offer a 1-hour class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.




ZUMBA ( 11:00 am - 12:00 - noon )

ZUMBA- an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music.

Join Sharon for an hour of great fun and exercise! The cost of the class is $3 per person, and you pay the instructor.




Rook ( 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm )

Join us at 1:00 on Wednesdays. If you enjoy cards, this is a large group and everyone is invited.

YOGA ( 10:30 am - 11:30 am )

Finally! We are able to offer Yoga classes at our center.

The Senior Center is happy to announce we offer 4 Yoga classes a week with Dianne Culley. Dianne's first class here was so full that we had to add a second class time that day.

You must supply your own mat and remember that classes are on time, no one admitted after the class begins. 10:30-11:30 and 11:30-12:30 on Mondays and Thursdays.




Golden Branches ( 11:00 am - 12:30 - pm )

The Golden Branches is the name of the "first/original" organized seniors group in Olive Branch. They began holding meetings in a church, then moved to the "Park Office" and now the Senior Center. They meet every Thursday at 11:00. The first Thursday is their business meeting, the next week they celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and play bingo for small prizes. The third Thursday they try to have a speaker or some organized event and the 4th Thursday they have pot luck lunch. The group does have membership dues, but anyone can join.

Euchre ( 12:30 - pm - 2:30 pm )

Euchre (play /?ju?k?r/), A card game also known as eucre, is a trick-taking card game most commonly played with four people in two partnerships with a deck of 24 standard playing cards. It is the game responsible for introducing the joker into modern packs; this was invented around 1860 to act as a top trump or best bower (from the German word Bauer, "farmer", denoting also the jack).[1] It is believed to be closely related to the French game Écarté that was popularized in the United States by the Cornish and Pennsylvania Dutch,[2] and to the seventeenth-century game of bad repute Loo. It may be sometimes referred to as Knock Euchre to distinguish it from Bid Euchre.




Alzheimers Support Group ( 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm )

Marilyn Kelley is the facilitator for this support group. They meet the 4th Thursday of every month from 1-2:30. If that day falls on a holiday, please check with the center calendar for an alternative schedule.This group is for caregivers only, so please make arrangements for your loved ones.

 




Chair Yoga ( 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm )

For seniors that are unable to participate in a traditional yoga class, Dianne has now added a chair yoga class on Mondays & Thursdays from 2:15 -3:00. You must furnish your own mat. Call the Senior Center if you have any questions (662)890-7182.

Enjoy a great group of people that meet in our library for Wii Bowling! Every Friday at 10:00, these folks have more fun than any group here. Come join 'em!




Dominoes ( 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm )

Join us every Friday afternoon for Dominoes. This group is open to any seniors wanting to join in; there may be 4 or 5 people up to 12. I've been told whoever loses brings a snack the next week, consider yourself warned! Great group, make new friends.

Line Dancing ( 9:00 am - 12:00 - noon )

Please join us on Tuesdays at 9:00 for Line Dancing with Jean Cain. She teaches a beginners class that starts promptly at 9:00, followed by an intermediate class and an advanced class. The cost is $3 per person regardless of 1 or all 3 classes, you pay the instructor.  New beginner classes start in January. Jean teaches twice a week, here at the center on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Tennis Center in Southaven. You are encouraged to attend at both locations.




Wii Bowling ( 10:00 am - 12:00 - noon )

If you like to bowl, please join our group Wii Bowling in our library every Tuesday at 10:00. The group that plays has a great time and I know you will too!
